...to say Happy New Year blogland?

17 days in and I've been noted by my absence on here so I thought I'd better check in. I've been busy keeping my head down and chin up as a result of a truly disasterous New Year's Eve. I don't even want to think about it but it involved getting thoroughly upset about the ex, somehow losing the people I was out with, meaning that by the midnight bongs I was stood all on my own in the midst of other revellers having never felt so lonely in my life, and walking home at 12.10 with tears streaming down my face. Possibly the lowest I have ever been.

I resolved that night that this year was going to be different and so far it's working pretty well. I got rid of every thing that still connected me to M - his texts, his messages, his number. And how liberated did I feel! And how much easier it was to move on! So much so that when I found out a week ago that he had indeed got back with the ex of his, I didn't even care!

Well, between you and me, I didn't have the time, energy, or inclination to. I was too busy going great guns with my drumming lessons (I feel like a proper drummer now); putting together a proposal for a promotion at work (appraisal is tomorrow so fingers crossed); planning trips far away (my flight to Sydney via San Francisco leaves next Wednesday); saying yes to new experiences (decided on a whim to try out for a cheerleading team and hey - I got on!); oh and dating without any pressure or impunity (and that's a whole different story!)

So everyone - here's to 2008 - let it be our best year yet.
