I really have been neglecting this blog in the last few weeks. In my defence, the reasons for this are:

1. I have been busy applying to sail in a famous round the world race next year. To my utter amazement, I have been accepted. About one quarter of the people who are accepted do the whole circumnavigation; the rest, like me, do one or two legs of the journey. This is mainly because to do the whole thing costs over £30,000 - my leg plus training will cost 'only' about £8,000. I still can't believe I've been accepted. Next September, folks, I will be setting sail from the UK to Brazil. By Christmas 2009 I will be a TRANSATLANTIC SAILOR. That's pretty cool, no?

2. I have been absolutely tearing my ways through the boys of London. On average there's about one date a week, if I don't like them I chuck 'em, go out, and replace 'em. It's exhausting but great fun. Mr Right is out there somewhere, I just need to find him. In the meantime I'm having a hoot being taken out on dinner dates, West End cinema, and drinks.

3. Work is hectic. Boring boring boring I'm not going to bore you with it too!

4. I had to write my penultimate essay for this year of my masters course. Just a project and the dissertation to go now. I need to find a title for the latter but again you'll probably find it somewhat boring so moving swiftly on to...

...Sailing again. I am spending most of my weekends in the blustery Solent and I am bloody loving it. J may have been the crappest boyfriend ever but he can be credited with getting me hooked on this sailing lark. Oh and did I mention I'm sailing across the Atlantic next year? ;-)

Ciao for now x
